Summary[edit]

File information
Description

The design incorporates a quartered center, which has numerous origins. We were inspired by Grand Rapids' original German brewing history in this aspect, as the quartered or checkered design is a common identity in Bavarian culture - take the BMW logo as an example. In addition, the city of GR is divided into four quadrants giving our streets suffixes of NW, NE, SW and SE. Not to mention the simplest: GRFC is four letters.

Light and dark blue, in our case royal and navy blue, have been used in a number of West Michigan corporate and sporting identities. West Michigan Whitecaps baseball team, Grand Valley State University, and the Rapid bus system have each used variations of this combination.
