English: The old Luxor Theater in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. After extensive restorations, the facade has been partly brought back to its original shape and design. The black paint that covered the facades has been removed, the windows have been restored, the white fascia on the ground floor has been removed and the tower has been brought back in a modernist style.
Nederlands: Het oude Luxor Theater te Rotterdam. Na een grondige verbouwing is de gevel deels teruggebracht in de oude stijl: de zwarte verf is van de gevel verwijderd; de originele ramen zijn hersteld en waar ze waren vervangen door kunststof zijn ze in oude stijl teruggeplaatst. Verder is de witte overkapping en beplating op de begane grond verwijderd en vervangen door een natuurstenen plint naar origineel model. Ten slotte is een lantaarn teruggebracht in de gevel, in moderne stijl. In de jaren '70 was de oorspronkelijke architectuur van het Oude Luxor grondig aangetast na een uitgebreide renovatie. |
