Summary[edit]
XREAL WORLD=Y∙2N
N can be positive or negative, 2N defines the size of Y mantissa LSB. The smallest number that can be represented using the Linear11 format is ±2-16 x 1 = ±15.3e-6, and the largest number is ±33.5e6. Since Signed 11-bit integers are -1,024 to +1,023, the size of the mantissa should be between 512 and 1,023. This leads to a way to encode the actual value into a PMBus Linear11 format value. That is, N is incremented starting from -16 and keeping the mantissa size within the required range.
