English: Perilampid Wasp - Euperilampus triangularis, Meadowood Farm SRMA, Mason Neck, Virginia. This wasp is a hyperparasitoid, meaning that it is a parasite of a parasite. The female lays her eggs on plants, and the tiny larvae attach themselves to some poor bug who happens to land on the plant. They don't eat that bug, but they eat whatever is parasitizing the bug. It's a dangerous world out there!
