Summary

Description
English: Arms of Perring, Perring Baronets of Membland, Devon: Argent, on a chevron engrailed between three fir cones pendant vert as many leopard's faces of the first (Debrett's Baronetage of England, revised, corrected and continued by George William Collen, London, 1840, p.434, Perring Baronets[1]). Given in Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.793 as Argent, on a chevron engrailed sable between three fir-cones pendent vert as many leopard's faces of the first (i.e. leopard faces argent) ("Perring baronets"). A mural monument to Peter Perring (1743-1796), who purchased Membland, uncle of the 1st Baronet, survives in Holbeton Church inscribed as follows:[1]
"In memory of Peter Perring Esqr. of Membland, late one of the Council of Fort St George in the East Indies, who died the 8th day of December 1796 aged 53"
Above is a large stone urn and below are shown the arms of Perring.
