Deutsch: Südostansicht der Burg in Plankenstein, ein Ortsteil der niederösterreichischen Gemeinde Texingtal.
Die Burg wurde urkundlich 1156/66 erwähnt. Im 15. und 16. Jahrhundert fand ein sukzessiver Ausbau statt, so dass die Anlage ringförmig geschlossen wurde. Ab dem 19. Jahrhundert verfiel die Burg, nachdem die Besitzer ihren Wohnsitz auf die Schallaburg verlegt hatten. Trotz allem wurde die Burgkapelle als Pfarrkirche genutzt und zeitweilig war die Dorfschule in der Burg untergebrachtː [1]. Ab 1975 wurde die Burg wieder instandgesetzt bzw. wiederaufgebaut. Der südliche Durchgangsturm, den man im 19. Jh. abgetragen hatte, wurde 1988 wieder aufgebaut ([2]) und um die 2020er Jahre wurden die 4 Türme mit umlaufenden Zinnenkränzen ergänzt.
