English: Post Card of a Red Carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus). Edward Henry Mitchell was born on April 27, 1867 in San Francisco and was one of the most prolific postcard publishers on the west coast of the United States and was based in San Francisco from the late 1890’s to the early-1920s.
