Summary

Description
English: Redundant sluice paddle. This metal casing sticking out of the brambles and nettles which grow on the grassy strip which now covers the infilled Wisbech canal is the paddle or sluice gear of a long redundant lock. The step in the surrounding stonework is where the lock gate swung into. See > 1241690 for a wider view of the location.
