Summary

Description
English: Robert Cunningham (1883–1942), born in Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland. A gymnast in his early years, and for 35 years (1907–1942) he had been a China Inland Mission missionary stationed in Kangding, Sichuanese Tibet, along with James Huston Edgar (1872–1936), who arrived in Kangding two years earlier than Cunningham did. He had travelled extensively in China and Tibet, and spoke the Chinese and Tibetan languages.
