Summary

Description
English: Rocky shore below the Crowns. Towards the right of the centre of the photo can be seen a dark opening with two large boulders in it - this is the portal of the mine incline known as Boscawen Diagonal Shaft which extended diagonally downwards under the sea to a depth of about 250 fathoms (1500 feet). A timber ramp structure ran from the portal to the winding engine house, behind the photographer position 1723211.
