Notes Rubens based his original work after Raphael's Loggia of Psyche in Villa Farnesina; a smaller copy was in the collection of Jan Jansz Gildemeester which today is presumed to be in the collection of the Duke of Sutherland; another version ( GK I 7583 Schloss Sanssouci Potsdam) was lost after movement to Schloss Rheinsberg and thence to Soviet zone in 1945
