Description
English: Gemini 7 photograph of the Tifernine sand dunes in Eastern Algeria, possibly the world's highest dunes at 300 to 400 m (1000 to 1500 feet). The sand is trapped in a basin surrounded by basalt mountains. This area is south of Fort Flatters. (Gemini 7, S65-63829)
