Description
English: The Scott Monument in East Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, a Victorian Gothic monument to Scottish author Sir Walter Scott. John Steell's statue, made from white Carrara marble, shows Scott seated, resting from writing one of his works with a quill pen and his dog Maida by his side.
Nederlands: Het Scott Monument in East Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, een uit 1844 daterend neogotisch monument ter ere van de Schotse schrijver sir Walter Scott. Het standbeeld, in wit Carraramarmer, van John Steell stelt een gezeten Scott voor die uitrust na het schrijven aan één van zijn werken. Zijn hond Maida ligt naaste hem.
