Description
English: This print reproduction represents Sebastian Lee (1805–1887), cello composer and virtuoso. The portrait was done in 1843 when Sebastian Lee was 45 years old. The print belonged to Charles Volkert, director of Schott Music in 1881 and was kindly lent for the edition of the book History of violoncello, the viol da gamba, their precursors and collateral instruments by Edmund S. J. Staeten (William Reeves, 1915)

Source This has been published in the book History of the Violoncello, the viol da Gamba, their precursors and collateral instruments by Edmund S. J. van der Straeten. The print has been lent by Charles Volkert, Director of Schott Music in 1881. After contacting Schott Music, Dr. Susanne Gilles-Kircher, the archivist at Schott, said she estimate that the picture is free of rights due to its age.
