Summary

Description The south end, on Baseline Street, of the first Hillsboro Transit Center of Tri-Met (now TriMet), which was in use from 1988 to 1996 and also included a park-and-ride lot (visible in the background of this view). Bus 437, a 1973 35-foot Flxible "New Look" bus, has just arrived on route 68 from Tanasbourne. After this transit center closed in 1996, buses temporarily used simple on-street stops until completion of the replacement facility, the Hillsboro Central Transit Center, which opened in 1998 and serves both buses and MAX light rail. A new Washington County Jail was built on the site of the 1988 transit center and park-and-ride lot, opening in 1998. (The white building in the center background was demolished in 1996, also to make way for the new jail.)
