"Plate X" in a 1739 book representing the tenth and last of ten 1595 Armada tapestries in the House of Lords. The 1739 book iwas reprinted in 1878 well after the tapestries had burned in 1834 when it became obvious this was the most accurate version of the tapestries to survive with an aim to reproduce them. One print was made into a painting by order of Prince Albert, and several others followed in 2011. These reproductions are now on display in the Prince's chamber of the House of Lords. |
