Summary

Description

Pre-1914 postcard of St Bartholomew's church, Armley, West Yorkshire, England. Designed by Henry Walker and Joseph Althron, and consecrated in 1877. Dated by style and quality of print, and also the requirement for a half-penny stamp on the back (which is unused).

The church on the left is the previously-existing chapel which was demolished in 1909. That old chapel was re-decorated in 1862 and that decoration included stone carving by Mawer & Ingle.
