Summary

Description
English: Territorial Army Drill Hall, 89 East Claremont Street. One of the few remaining T.A. Drill Halls in Edinburgh. Volunteers reported to drill halls like this one when war broke out in 1939. During the early years of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in the 1950s, troopers of the Household Cavalry and La Garde républicaine were billeted here while their horses were stabled nearby 1462737. In the same decade, it was also the venue for annual Christmas parties held for the children of Royal Mail postal workers.
