Summary

Description
English: The Down 'Broadsman' passes Stratford Station,
View SW, towards Liverpool St.; ex-Great Eastern Liverpool St. - Colchester etc. main line, junction for 'everywhere else' - from Dockland to Cambridge - and therefore an immensely busy station and a Mecca for train-spotters - bottom right: this was especially so before electrification began (the Tube in 1946, main-line suburban in 1949): Stratford was second only to Clapham Junction as the busiest station in Britain - and all Steam until then. The 'Broadsman' was the 15.30 Liverpool St. to Sheringham; this day it was headed by BR Standard Class 7 4-6-2 No. 70013 'Oliver Cromwell', which was the last 'Britannia' in revenue service and has been preserved.
