The pin has been mass-produced for over 130 years, with photographs distributed widely. Yet the majority of these photos are of low quality, with poor contrast. Line drawings exist that omit colors and cannot show the various sheens. A few commercial sites exhibit watermarked, high-resolution photos of the same, but respecting their authorship I chose an image that had much lower resolution where my even-lower resolution reproduction would certainly not cause economic hardship for that owner, an Ebay seller. There is a a very slim possibility it may increase the owner's commercial opportunities, because I cannot hide their original usage, but promotion of them is not my intent. I have no connection with this seller. |
