Summary

Description
English: Caricature drawing of the Falcon Inn, Battersea, by John Nixon and etched by Thomas Rowlandson, entitled 'Undertakers Regaling' or 'Undertakers regaling themselves at Death’s Door Battersea Rise Surry', a play on the name of the then landlord, Robert Death; and incorporating 1785 comic verse from Edward Trapp Pilgrim entitled ‘Lines on a publican, named Death’. Undertakers picnic and revell outside a country inn displaying the name R. Death; in the background a cart ascending St Johns Hill is overturning and a horse and trap descending the hill looks to be out of control.
