Description
English: CLOSTER DOCK ROAD WHICH IS THE KEY ROAD THROUGH THE DISTRICT WAS LAID OUT IN 1761 BY NEW YORK WHEN THEY CLAIMED THE AREA. THE DISTRICT AND ROAD LED TO A DOCK ON THE HUDSON WHERE FARM PRODUCE COULD BE FERRIED OVER TO NEW YORK. USED BY REVOLUTIONARY WAR TROOPS AND MUCH LATER IN WORLD WAR I BEING FERRIED TO TROOP TRANSPORTS. ALPINE COMMUNITYCHURCH ON CLOSTER DOCK ROAD IS A KEY CONTRIBUTING STRUCTURE. BUILT 1866-1871
