English: Upper Potomac River--Coast Guard Cutter Red Cedar (WLM 688) performs the annual task of switching out 7 X 17 buoys with ice buoys that ride low in the water under large patches of ice and pop up to the surface through holes in the ice. Due to the large numbers of buoys involved, Red Cedar is accompanied by a barge to carry them all. |
