English: The U.S. Navy escort carrier USS Casablanca (ACV-55), at right, about to be launched at Henry J. Kaiser's shipyard, Vancouver, Washington (USA), on 5 April 1943. Two of her 49 sister ships are under construction at left. All escort carriers were redesignated "CVE" on 15 July 1943.
