Summary

Description
English: In the late 1800s, the United States government began compiling all records to the American Civil War. For individual soldiers, records of their duty was transcribed onto "Service Records". An individual card was created for each entry found in an official record. This particular service record shows the name of the Civil War soldier, his military unit, when he enlisted, when he was last paid, and any other pertinent information.
