Description

Views of Brighton and Hove #7. This view looks northwestwards from the north end of Howard Place, above the entrance to Brighton station. Features (click to enlarge):

  • The villas in the midground are on the steeply sloping York Villas, developed between 1865 and 1869.
  • The flats on the left, Prestonville Court, are at the junction of Old Shoreham Road and Prestonville Road.
  • The spire belongs to St Luke's Church, an Anglican church built in 1875 to serve the area.
