I think that the description of this is not accurate. The photo is taken from the Bridge on Soothill Lane. The island platform in the foreground is the GNR ( later LNER) line and the building in the background is the remaining station building with the tracks running in front of it being the line which still runs from Huddersfield to Leeds (formerly LMS). The photo looks towards Dewsbury. The line in the foreground veering to the left was the Shaw Cross Colliery Line which was at one time a passenger line.
