As a researcher of the 351st BG, I would like to share that the aircraft tail number is incorrect on File talk:Boeing B-17G-95-BO Fortress 43-38846-351st BG.jpg. Notice in the image you can clearly see 48846 on the tail. The decade number (4) was dropped on all aircraft. Therefore, the correct tail number of this aircraft is 44-8846. This can be confirmed on the 351st BG website by searching their database for the aircraft by tail number. 44-8846 is a hit. 43-38846 does not exist. Hope this helps.
