Alberta Canada[edit]

The province of Alberta, Canada claims that there are no rats within their borders. There is no evidence that backs this claim.

Although the reverter provided a source indicating Alberta is Norway rat-free, I think at the scale of this map it is inappropriate to reflect that. There are many regions which are, in fact, rat free, but it seems absurd to excise them from the map. We could, for example, remove large swaths of desert, all lakes, and other areas. But the intent of the map is not to show such fine detail, only to show the rough outline of features. In fact, I would go so far as to argue that including some fine-scale features argued to be rat free, while not including others, is misleading, since it implies a higher precision than can be provided. Thus, reverting to the plain outline map. --TeaDrinker (talk) 21:21, 3 September 2010 (UTC) (Annnnndd, I should be saying this on commons, not here... --TeaDrinker (talk) 21:22, 3 September 2010 (UTC))[reply]
Our mission it to be accurate unbias and provite continious quality improvement. Let's unshade Alberta and look into other areas that are rat free. The map can be improved over time as our knowledge of the creature's distribution and their actual distribution ebbs and flows. Alberta is big enough to unshade.71.142.72.131 (talk) 19:22, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
