While the image is a quite good illustration of how a Bayer sensor works, part 4 is a bit unfortunate since it is supposed to just show the effect of having to interpolate missing colours, however there is some quite aggressive (and thus visible) JPEG compression going on there. It is quite evident that the effect is indeed due to JPEG compression due to the characteristic 8x8-blocks, and not an effect of any (reasonable) interpolation scheme, since the Bayer mask repeats in 2x2 blocks. 188.120.85.177 (talk) 21:24, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
