M16 ?[edit]

- I think you're right. It's not the stock, but the barrel length—it's too short, even without looking at a comparison photo. Still, see this file for a side-by-side comparison of the (from top to bottom) M16A1, M16A2, M4A1 carbine and M16A4. The M16A3, a fully-automatic variant issued in limited numbers to certain special units, is not pictured.
