Factual accuracy disputed[edit]

I have removed a visible comment made in the article by River10 and replaced it with a maintenance template. River10 disputes the factual accuracy of this article, offering the following criticism:

"THERE IS NO MENTION OF DOMAAL RAJPUTS IN ANCIENT HINDU HISTORY BOOKS. INCLUDE CREDIBLE REFERENCES FROM AUTHENTIC AUTHORS PLEASE."

Using Google Books, I have verified that the single reference presently cited by the article does exist, that it has a chapter titled "Domal", and that it states at the top of p. 313 that "The Domals are Rajputs converted to Islam...." The full text of the chapter is not presently available online. Anyone wishing to evaluate the credibility of the source may want to see its synopsis at http://www.vedamsbooks.com/no34961.htm -- it gives a glimpse of the authors and their possible agenda. Anyone have any thoughts? AtticusX (talk) 23:22, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Domaal[edit]

Actually, Domaal are unique among the Chibhali or Pahari speaking communities in being extensively referred to. The People of India Series Jammu and Kashmir, which is an official publication by the Anthropological Survey of India has a chapter at pages 313 to 318. Most good libraries with sections on South Asia keep this book, and I suggest borrowing and reading rather then relying on google books. The Census of India Jammu and Kashmir series mention them through out the period 1891 to 1931. Once again all good libraries have them, I suggest the British library. On that basis, unless you have evidence from any reputable text, I will remove the factual accuracy issue.

Unsigned[edit]

Dear Atticus I have done extensive research over the subject of Domaal Rajputs and unfortunately apart from the reference you mentioned about I have not come across a single reference in the old books. This subject is hence highly disputed in my personal opinion. I am still working on the article and if find any credible refernce it will definately be included. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.150.4.184 (talk) 14:23, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
