It is reasonably well written.

I do have concerns about the number of images and some of the quality of them, but not enough to hold back GA.

File:Pottery tower 1.JPG is REALLY fuzzy. Suggest a better quality picture.

Really? There are more pictures of towers, but I hate being redundant and using the same ones over and over in Han-related articles. This one is kind of fuzzy, but come one, it's not THAT fuzzy, is it? I've seen much worse.--Pericles of Athens^Talk 17:55, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest a cull of some of the pictures. There are a LOT, and a number of them are of poor quality. Removing the poor quality ones would give more impact to the ones that remain, whereas now they just sorta run all together. I won't hold GA status back on this, but too many pictures is almost as bad as no pictures.

* Lead: "... was a period of economic stability and disaster,..." huh? Did it have both? If so, suggest rewording to "was a period with times of economic stability alongside times of economic disaster" or something similar. As it's worded now, it seems to imply that the stability and disaster were simultaneous. * Lead: I'm not happy with this easter egg link. "...more and more on commercial exchanges with [[Society and culture of the Han Dynasty|wealthy landowners who owned large agricultural estates]]..." Strongly suggest rewording this somehow. Same for the later one "... the Han government [[History of the Han Dynasty|became heavily decentralized due to economic and political crises]] while the great landowners..." See WP:EGG for more information. * Urbanization: more eggs ruins of [[Science and technology of the Han Dynasty#Structural engineering|which still stand today]]) * Circulation: Who is Sadao Nishijima? Suggest a quick "historian" or "economist" to explain why his opinion is important. * Circulation: Egg coins every year [[Economy of the Song Dynasty|while 3,000,000,000 coins in 1045 CE and 5,860,000,000 coins in 1080 CE were made]] in the * Circulation: Who is Angus Maddison? As above, a quickie explanation of why he's important would help. * Landowners: Same deal with Patricia Buckley Ebrey. * There is a bit of overlinking going on. Surely we don't need to link to boats, wheelbarrows, shopkeepers, biography, tomb, canal, rice, wheat, beans, barley, pear, plum, peach, apricot, chicken, duck, goose, beef, pork, rabbit, owl, silk, iron, stove, hoe, dog, slipper, coffin, gemestone, pearl, ivory, paper, ink, orchard, mural, stable, plowing, raisin, lion, elephant, glass, sugar, salt, grape? ANd the boat link in tax reforms makes even LESS sense, since it's to "maritime history"

I've reduced somewhat the "easter egg" bits by removing some "the" "and" etc. from piped links. They work better outside the links.

* Private manufacture: "To curb the threat of wealthy merchants and kings, the Han government..." what threat? * Goods: Another egg [[Science and technology of the Han Dynasty|Iron was also used to make military weapons]], such as... * Foreign trade: Egg again: Yet [[Protectorate of the Western Regions|once the Han subjugated the Tarim Basin]], Han envoys... * Foreign trade: Another egg: to [[Roman trade with India|purchase and stock up on Chinese silks]].

Excellent article! Just some small glitches.
