Requested move 1b[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: move all. -- tariqabjotu 02:46, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

– (partially unbundled as requested) Undiscussed moves by the same editor year or so back, particularly bad examples of the en.wp craze for the (entertainer) dab. In ictu oculi (talk) 03:36, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support; "(entertainer)" is always a bad way to title an article, and all articles titled that way should be moved to another title. I suppose there will never be a consensus for moving certain present articles, but they are still wrong. 168.12.253.66 (talk) 13:36, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. Looks like a bit of prudishness came into the naming here? -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:29, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support for all as it is of key importance for us to be able to most immediately identify our most vital assets. DeistCosmos (talk) 03:07, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. But wouldn't "(actress)" be more concise? WP:DAB suggests that a two-word disambiguator be used only when one isn't enough to do the job. SpeedDreamer (talk) 11:33, 9 September 2013 (UTC) sock[reply]
    • Well, it isn't really. Porn "actresses" are usually about as much actresses as trout are rodents! I think we do need the adjective here to avoid confusing them with people who can actually act. After all, people looking for the porn stars might not realise this was who they were looking for if they saw "actress" without the "pornographic" qualifier - it's not really what they are. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:57, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

(actress)/(pornographic actress) RfC[edit]

An RfC which may affect this article's title is currently taking place (Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Pornography#RfC: Should a person who has appeared in exclusively pornographic films be described as "(actor/-tress)" or "(pornographic actor/-tress)"?).
