A tag has been placed on Miseration requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. A tag has been placed on Features of C Sharp 2.0 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Halo: Reach[edit]

My mistake, sorry. I completely missed that section. Sorry for wasting your time. --Thejadefalcon (talk) 10:22, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jwoodger, just letting you know that in the future when you merge an article you should turn the merged page into a redirect to the article you placed the merged content into instead of requesting deletion. This is to maintain the edit history so that proper attribution can be given to authors of the merged content as required by our licensing requirements, and aids navigation in case an external site linked to the article. Thanks! BryanG (talk) 14:32, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalization of headings[edit]

regarding your edits to Nepotism, I'd like to point out to you that the Wikipedia style for capitalizing headings is to use "sentence case" instead of "title case", e.g.,

Important things to know about this subject

not:

Important Things to Know About This Subject

This may be unfamiliar to many editors who believe that or have been taught that "title case is the right way to capitalize headings". It isn't the "right way", it is one style. Wikipedia has, for better or worse, chosen to follow a different style, i.e., capitalize the heading the same way you would capitalize any sentence:

  • capitalize the first word,
  • capitalize any proper nouns (people, places, organizations), and
  • begin all other words with lower case letters.

Hi. Questions regarding your recent edits there:

1. Your inline citations tag: What is wrong with Parenthetical referencing, described as a legitimate method, which is used there?

I personally have no problem with this method, I just wanted to bring it to attention as per Wikipedia:Citing_sources#Inline_citations so that one day it might become a featured article. In regards to the information presented, I believe your articles are fantastic.
I understand and will change. Thanks. Also thanks for your encouragement. I'm glad to see this.
Please look at Wikipedia:Citing sources#Parenthetical referencing. The method I have used is described there as a legitimate Inline citation method for featured articles. See a detailed example there. Have I missed anything? -- Comps (talk) 15:18, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry Comps, you are absolutely correct. I was simply used to another particular style which hyperlinks to the bottom of the page. I guess both are as valid, but since this is the web - I hope you won't mind if I convert them to the footnote system? :) Jwoodger (talk) 12:32, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. But no doubt the method that you suggest, with links, is more convenient for users. Feel free to change. I'll follow where you do not change. -- Comps (talk) 14:07, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2. You added to Wikipedia: WikiProject Databases and assessed. Who is allowed to assess?

Well, anybody can really. If you would like to join this project I would be delighted. The project is barely active and in need of an expert, please see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Databases
Thanks for the invitation. I'll check the practical implications and will consider. Comps (talk) 14:04, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please update your status with WP:VG[edit]

Dear WikiProject Video games member,

You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

Karnivool[edit]

Seems we both have the same intentions on improving Karnivool - to avoid tripping over each other I'm happy for you to work on it whilst I'm off doing other things. Dan arndt (talk) 06:16, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of PROD from Cuisine of Sakha[edit]

Hello Jwoodger, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD template you added to Cuisine of Sakha has been removed. It was removed by Baskirs777 with the following edit summary '(no edit summary)'. Please consider discussing your concerns with Baskirs777 before pursuing deletion further yourself. If you still think the article should be deleted after communicating with the 'dePRODer,' you may want to send the article to AfD for community discussion. Rollback[edit]

I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback correctly, and for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. FASTILY (TALK) 03:56, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick note - While reviewing your contribs, I noticed you have a tenancy to revert good-faith edits as well as vandalism. Please always remember to assume good faith towards others' edits before reverting. -FASTILY (TALK) 03:57, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I will take this more seriously in the future. Jwoodger (talk) 03:59, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Re: Your Strada article work: Greetings! Since you've been the one working hard on the Strada band article I wanted to let you know I added something in its talk page here[1]. I think it counts as something you'd want to read :) Cheers~ daTheisen(talk) 03:25, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for your work patrolling new pages. Just a friendly note that when an article is a blatant attack (as in this case) please make sure to use the G10 (not G3) tag within twinkle, which will automatically blank the page. Also, attack pages tend to get quicker attention from admin when there is a backlog. Thanks again, and keep up the good work.  7  02:48, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, cheers :) Jwoodger (talk) 02:51, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there Jwoodger :). Thanks for your work patrolling new pages, but don't forget to be careful; it's an area where it's far to easy to upset newbies, and categorising their edits as vandalism is a way to do this. You Evie Fishman marked as CSD G3 (vandalism), however, I don't understand which part of it seems like a hoax/vandalism to you. It's not suggesting that Oompa Loompas are real, it's just saying that Evie Fishman has a fear of the fictional creatures. Anyway, keep up the new page patrolling, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions or other messages. Best, - Kingpin13 (talk) 09:53, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Assumption College[edit]

Hi, just letting you know that I removed the citation tag for the notable alumni. As they (almost) all have their own pages, the references really belong on their profiles rather than the schools page (As it helps keep everything in one place). cheers, Clovis Sangrail (talk) 05:16, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that we only need to provide cites in the bio page of the alumni, but I only see 6 out of 22 names with their own article in Assumption College. For the non-bluelinked articles, I think we need cites (would they even be notable enough though)?. Jwoodger (talk) 05:12, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
