DescriptionFordham University Rams football at Yankee Stadium, 1940.jpg
@emstc has corrected me -- this is 1940, not 1936. The rebuilt upper deck shows that it's not 1936, and the ad on the outfield wall shows that it is in fact 1940. So the game is 11/30/1940, still Fordham vs. NYU. It's a better world because their are fanatics of Yankee history.
A crowd of 50,000 gathers to watch Fordham University lose to NYU 6-7 on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1936 in Yankee Stadium. The marching band is getting ready and the Rams' Seven Blocks of Granite are still in their wool sweaters on this grey day. Snow is on the ground, and snow fell lightly during the game. Kickoff was 1:30pm, so this is closer to 1.
I believe Vince Lombardi is the man to the right of the "G" marker. Can anyone name the Fordham players?
