Summary

Description
English: Heaton 2nd railway station (site), Tyne & Wear
Opened in 1887 by the North Eastern Railway at the time of the quadrupling of this part of the line from Newcastle to Morpeth, this station replaced an earlier station immediately behind the camera position. In turn, it was also closed in 1980. View south west from Heaton Road bridge towards Manors and Newcastle. Only the track layout shows that the station was once made of 2 island platforms.
