Summary

Description
English: Hudson's Bay Company Granary and Clerk's House Site This location in Champoeg State Park commemorates the site of the 22-20 vote to form the first American government in the Pacific Northwest in 1843. This ceremony occurred at the location of the Hudson's Bay Co. Granary, which stood at this site from 1841-1861, when an historic December flood swamped and destroyed the settlement. Pictured State Park structure was not part of the original settlement. Note plaque just under central second floor window denoting floodwater levels. Site is 25 feet above current Willamette River channel.

This is an image of a place or building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States of America. Its reference number is 91001574.
