Description
English: During Operation John Paul Jones it was necessary for Task Force troops from the 39th Engineer Battalion to construct an 8,000 ft road to connect the beachhead at Vung Ro Bay with Route 1. A pioneer road was cut through the difficult terrain just 20 days after work began on 25 Aug . Two dozers were lost in the effort and three to four tons of explosives were used daily.
