Summary

Description
English: Acrylic illustration of the life cycle of the Japanese beetle (Popillia japonica).

The white lines on the bottom indicate the months of a year, starting with January. The life cycle takes a year. The insect spends most of its life as a larva underground.

In late spring, grubs change into pupa. In early summer, the pupae become adult beetles and emerge.
