Description
Deutsch: Idealisierte Darstellung des Ottonen bzw. Liudolfingers Otto III. mit Reichsapfel und langem Szepter auf dem rechten Tiberufer von Rom mit Blick auf die Engelsburg im Hingergrund, womit auf die ottonische Politik der Renovatio imperii und seine Italienpolitik einschließlich der längeren Aufenthalte in Rom verwiesen wird. Gestiftet von Dr. Eduard Franz Souchay, Schöffe der Freien Stadt Frankfurt am Main. Das Gemälde ist Teil der Herrschergalerie im Kaisersaal des Hauses zum Römer im Frankfurter Rathaus und gehört zum Bestand des Historischen Museums Frankfurt am Main
