English: Mary C. Baltz, Survey Party Chief, Canastota New York.

Mary did all of the soils surveying for seven planners in Madison, Oneida and Lewis counties.

As of May 1, 1949, Mary was the only woman doing this type of work in the Soil Conservation Service (SCS)

in the United States.
