Berlingozzo is a typical Carnival cake from Lamporecchio, in the province of Pistoia, Italy.[1] It is a simple ring-shaped cake, flavored with anise, and has its origins in the time of the Medici.[citation needed] The name derives from berlingaccio, a term that indicated Fat Thursday.[2]

The ingredients are egg yolks, flour, sugar, grated lemon and / or orange zest, butter and milk.
