Removal of Larson tweet[edit]

This tweet by larson [1] should be considered something done in jest, which we know that Larson and the other showwriters do often. It might actually be legit, but it makes more sense to assume it is just a joke made during the hiatus. --MASEM (t) 19:17, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Keep it out. Even if we take it serious, there is no indication of season 5, just future episodes. Gial Ackbar (talk) 08:49, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Season 5 Premiere | The Cutie Map Part 1 & 2 Wiki page[edit]

Hello, I'm writing up the wiki page for this Season's premiere. I just need someone to proof read it before I publish it, anyone want to help?

I got it finished already, but some parts I'm unsure what to add... — Preceding unsigned comment added by ILM126 (talkcontribs) 16:49, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you are talking for pages on en.wiki, please do not make those yet. There is presently no assurance of secondary sources to make the episode notable, though while in the past we know the season premieres and finales have generally had that. We should wait a few days to see if anything comes along, as if not, we can't support the article. --MASEM (t) 17:09, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I waited for a few days the last time I wrote an article. It was the Twilight's Kingdom page. So I'll just wait till Monday before I publish it.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ILM126 (talkcontribs) 17:29, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just going to wait till the release of the episode viewership or I can just post it tomorrow... ILM126 (talk) 16:42, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to change the episode description that said Fluttershy was weak-willed because it's not true. She was selected to go undercover because she had been most open to the townspeople and friendly to them, not because she was weak. It was her cleverness that allowed the deception to be uncovered. And I don't think that other editors working on MLP pages should be automatically reverted just because they would word an episode summary differently. But, give WP:BRD, I'm coming here to discuss this and see what other editors think. Liz Read! Talk! 20:51, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I'll just publish it now. And edits can be done later. I published it under: The Cutie Map Images, a more detailed description and additional info can be added now ILM126 (talk) 12:32, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As I mentioned before, it is really not proven notable yet for a standalone article. I've seen only one review from Unleash the Fanboy and that's it. We need more to avoid having it deleted. --MASEM (t) 13:20, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Most people would say it's unknown if Starlight Shimmer would return, but I made a slight addition to the description about the Mane Six having a feeling that they haven't seen the last of Starlight Glimmer. Well, I'm putting it back, see! So you'd better have a pretty good reason for giving me a warning on my profile. --LooneyTunerIan (talk) 20:32, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Episode 99/100 writer swap[edit]

It's been brought to our community's attention that M.A. Larson and Amy Keating Rogers exchanged writing for episodes 99 and 100, respectively, during production. However, does that really warrant a mention on this page? Furthermore, is this information that "needs to be known by the Wikipedia community"? The fact that we're talking about writers who aren't involved with the episode anymore seems trivial, regardless of its self-published source. User:Immblueversion (talk) 18:26, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t see any importance for that info either. Keep it out. Gial Ackbar (talk) 18:51, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's trivia, unless for some reason more details as a result come known. --MASEM (t) 18:58, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Slice of Life article[edit]

Evidently there are plans to make an article for the 100th episode Slice of Life, judging from the hidden link. You're free to use my sandbox to prepare if anyone would like. User:Immblueversion (talk) 17:37, 27 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Season 5 fake video has been stolen a lot of times on YouTube.[edit]

There is a fake MLP Season 5 video uploaded on YouTube, with a thumbnail of Twilight Sparkle and Flash Sentry getting married (depicted as fanart). In the fake MLP Season 5 video: - Double Rainboom (The fan animation by Zachary Rich, not fully played) - The MLP Gameloft game Yea, YouTubers have been just angry about this. The video has been stolen a lot of times and sometimes the uploaders use Two Applejacks (One normal, one with a lavender mane and purple eyes) for the thumbnail (stolen fanart), which starts to increase the popularity of Angry YouTubers. Yes, please report all of the stolen videos. Those are fake. --180.75.70.242 (talk) 10:58, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As they are fake, there is no need to include them here. Gial Ackbar (talk) 11:13, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Is the full voice cast really necessary?[edit]

I'm seeing a lot of super-minor bit characters in the cast list for season 5... Are we sure it's necessary to list all these voice actors on any of these season pages? User:Immblueversion (talk) 01:29, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No, not really. Only non-recurring but non-incidential, plot centric characters that would not be on our character list should be included , so ones like Troubleshoes, Tree Hugger, or Fancy Pants. --MASEM (t) 02:45, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to bring this up again: we should list all VAs, so that if a VA only has an incidental role we list it , but we should absolutely avoid all the incidental roles for a VA that otherwise has several other main/guest type roles (ala Ellen Kennedy from this last episode) --MASEM (t) 19:10, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

References in MLP Season 5 Episode: Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?[edit]

I added some references here.

  • Sailor Moon (Sailor Princess Big MacIntosh-kun /)^3^(\)
  • CatDog (Lyra Heartstrings and Special Agent Sweetie Drops get their bodies stuck together, very similar to that show)
  • The MLP Episode, A Dog and Pony Show (Spike turns into a knight)
  • The MLP Episode, Bats! (Fluttershy turns into Flutterbat)
  • The MLP Episode, Power Ponies (Rainbow Dash and Applejack turn into Zapp and Mistress Mare-Velous)
  • The MLP Episode, A Canterlot Wedding Part 1 and 2 (CHANGELINGS RETURN ONCE AGAIN!)
  • Barney and Friends opening theme (is that the theme of the series? If so, reply to me.)
  • Five Nights at Freddy's 3 (THE SPRINGTRAP JUMPSCARE SOUND IS USED IN MLP: FIM FOR THE SECOND TIME OH MY GOD IF THIS IS USED ONE MORE TIME I JUMP OFF A CLIFF)
  • Monster House (film) (because those Ponyville houses became monsters)

Also added secrets[edit]

  • I think what this episode depicts Luna trying to stop the Tantabus (It's a misspelling of Tantibus). Kirby anyone?
  • A giant Derpy sounding like a cat aww
  • Not sure if Big Mac's dream is being an alicorn, or Hasbro has read our fanfics.
  • Luna dreams in her dream. It's beautiful that it's liquid pride.
  • I sure hope there's a deleted scene where the Tantabus invades Equestria and Princess Celestia steals the moon so that there is no night and you can't dream or sleep!!!!
  • Flying muffins sounding like Scootaloo (Sweetie Belle: (hovers over link) OH COME ON! THAT'S AN OLD JOKE!)

Okay guys that's all, now just think what you think! And also, Sweetie Belle really is upset at me. Sorry. 180.75.191.176 (talk) 04:53, 14 July 2015 (UTC Edited by: 180.75.70.242 (talk) 05:54, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Colour contrast problems[edit]

It seems that this article is using colours in the infobox which don't satisfy Wikipedia's accessibility guidelines. The contrast between the foreground colour and the background colour is low, which means that it may be difficult or impossible for people with visual impairments to read it.

To correct this problem, a group of editors have decided to remove support for invalid colours from Template:Infobox television season and other television season templates after 1 September 2015. If you would still like to use custom colours for the infobox and episode list in this article after that date, please ensure that the colours meet the WCAG AAA standard.

To test whether a colour combination is AAA-compliant you can use Snook's colour contrast tool. If your background colour is dark, then please test it against a foreground colour of "FFFFFF" (white). If it is light, please test it against a foreground colour of "000000" (black). The tool needs to say "YES" in the box for "WCAG 2 AAA Compliant" when you input the foreground and the background colour. You can generally make your colour compliant by adjusting the "Value (%)" fader in the middle box.

Please be sure to change the invalid colour in every place that it appears, including the infobox, the episode list, and the series overview table. If you have any questions about this, please ask on Template talk:Infobox television season. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 05:30, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Leaked episode[edit]

As currently noted in the article, the episode "Scare Master" was leaked on iTunes on September 21 before being taken down. But does this detail really have enough weight or verifability to be given notice? This isn't the first time an episode has been released online before its intended airdate, yet there's no mention of any of previous leaks, nor am I arguing they should be mentioned to compliment this. I propose the summary should be tagged until its intended airdate. User:Immblueversion (talk) 15:14, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The leak is not part of the plot, therefor there should be no tag about it in the plot summary. However, the leak date was the (unintentionally) air date of the episode at iTunes, therefor it should be mentioned there. Gial Ackbar (talk) 15:19, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I meant these tags: <!-- -->. And my question is whether or not the leak has enough weight or verifability to even be mentioned. User:Immblueversion (talk) 16:03, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
About the <!-- --> tag: Why should the summary be hidden? Wikipedia does not hide spoilers. The plot summary should be visible for anyone who wants to read it, without having to look at the source code. Gial Ackbar (talk) 16:09, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
However, we generally apply caution on leaked material that is not fully available to the public via legitimate means (as it fails WP:V), and since the episode has since been taken, there's no way the plot can be verified. It should be hidden until the episode airs. --MASEM (t) 16:14, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
On top of that, there's no verification for the leak itself or its relevance, such as how the episode has been or will be impacted by the leak, apart from maybe a blow to the episode's viewership, which at this point would count as original research. User:Immblueversion (talk) 16:20, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As the episode aired today in Canada, I put back in the long description. The plot is verifiable with the Candian TV airing. Gial Ackbar (talk) 17:39, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Crusaders of the Lost Mark separate article[edit]

I think because the episode was such a game-changer, it deserves its own article. - Jasonbres (talk) 20:31, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Episodes need to have secondary sources to be a separate article, and so far, unlike the openers/closers and unique ones (like Slice of Life), there's no sign secondary sources will cover this to any degree. --MASEM (t) 20:53, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I also feel the need to add that we shouldn't feel we have to make a new article for every opener/closer or "special" episode (such as the upcoming finale and Lena Hall episode) just because we've done so for past seasons, because I believe that would present bias towards the show. Note that even the pilot and S4 opener don't have articles. This, of course, brings us back to the point of verifiability; if they have the sources, then there's no reason not to make the articles. User:Immblueversion (talk) 00:59, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I was just about to post this question (yeah, I know, I'm a slowpoke, haha), but it seems to have already been answered - too bad that it didn't receive enough coverage to get its own article.Jonny Manz, signing off! (Ctrb, E-mail) 06:49, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
