Shane P. Hallam (born May 13, 1986) is an American NFL Draft writer, fantasy sports analyst, and Twitter personality. Hallam started his career by writing for various websites including Dotdash Meredith and 247Sports. He is now the Managing Partner and Owner of Draft Countdown LLC. He also consults for the NIL company Big League Advantage.

Early life[edit]

Hallam was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Paul and Debbie Hallam. He went to Chartiers Valley High School.[1] He has a Bachelor's degree from Ohio State University and a Master's degree from Bloomsburg University.[2]

Professional Career[edit]

Early Years[edit]

In High School and College, Hallam began using social media and internet forums to share information about both fantasy football and the NFL Draft as a Draftnik.

His rise in popularity came on Twitter under the handle “TheP1414” before transitioning to “ShanePHallam”. Answering Fantasy Football questions on Sunday mornings would often leave his account temporarily suspended for too much activity.[3] He would often appear on BlogTalkRadio podcasts about fantasy football.[4]

Hallam began writing for Scott Wright at Draft Countdown. He covered the Senior Bowl from 2011 to 2016 and focused most of his work on scouting reports and recaps for the site. He and Wright produced the “Draft Countdown” podcast during this time.[5]

Draft TV[edit]

On April 28, 2013, Hallam opened his own website DraftTV.com. The website was focused on providing NFL Draft and fantasy football commentary in video form with scouting reports and breakdowns.[6]

He won The Huddle Report “Top 100” Contest in 2015.[7]

Dotdash Meredith[edit]

In 2016, Hallam was hired to handle the college football section of Dotdash Meredith. He managed a team of writers and posted NFL Draft and college football content.[8]

Fake Pigskin[edit]

Hallam began freelancing for Fantasy Football and NFL Draft websites at this time. He joined Fake Pigskin writing about the NFL Draft and Fantasy Football.[9]

Hallam would also work for sites such as Steelers Insider at 247Sports[10] and Dynasty League Football.[11]

He would win The Huddle Report “Top 100” Contest once again in 2020.[7]

Draft Countdown[edit]

In 2021, it was announced that Hallam and Brian Bosarge would manage Draft Countdown with former owner Scott Wright moving to NextGem.[12][13]

Hallam established Draft Countdown LLC and is the owner. Hallam and Bosarge started “The Draft Countdown” podcast and covered the 2022 and 2023 NFL Drafts with continuous coverage of future drafts.[14][15]
