Mehmed Ferid Pasha[edit]

Greetings. Albania was established in 1912, and in those sources that I put it says he was a citizen of Albania. So should I put Albanian nationality? Prizrenali.berisha (talk) 10:13, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Prizrenali.berisha. In English language the word Nationality's main meaning describes the legal status of a person belonging to a particular nation in one country, and who is under a common legal jurisdiction, i.e., that is nearly equal to citizenship. The meaning of this word is different on the Balkans, where it means on the first place: to belong to a separate ethnic group. Mehmed Ferid died before the establishment of Albania and thus was not of Albanian nationality, but of Albanian ethnicity. Jingiby (talk) 10:57, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
