Parliamentary elections were held in Norway in 1835.[5] As political parties were not officially established until 1884,[6] all those elected were independents.[7] The number of seats in the Storting was increased from 95 to 96.[7] Voter turnout was 52.3%, although only 5.6% of the country's population was eligible to vote.[8]
