Becoming Xtraordinary is a documentary and interview show presented by Bear Grylls featuring 20 people who have achieved extraordinary things, including Julia Roberts, Roger Federer, Channing Tatum, Courteney Cox and Wladimir Klitschko. Each episode features interviews with the celebrity guests and discussion led by hosts YouTube star Evan Edinger and Blue Peter presenter Mwaksy Mudenda uncovering the secrets to success.

Production and Release[edit]

Becoming Xtraordinary is a Da Vinci Original Production created in partnership with BecomingX and Chrome Productions.[1] Becoming Xtraordinary premiered in May 2023 in the US and UK exclusive to Da Vinci's TV channels and streaming services. Da Vinci announced the production of two additional seasons of the series in January 2023.[1]

  • Mwaka Mudenda (Host), a British TV presenter best known for the BBC's Blue Peter.
  • Roger Federer, a Swiss former professional tennis player. Federer was ranked world No. 1 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) for 310 weeks, including a record 237 consecutive weeks, and finished as the year-end No. 1 five times.
  • Danica Patrick, an American former professional racing driver. She is the most successful woman in the history of American open-wheel car racing—her victory in the 2008 Indy Japan 300 is the only win by a woman in an IndyCar Series race.
  • Julia Roberts, an American actress. Known for her leading roles in films encompassing a variety of genres, she has received multiple accolades, including an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, and three Golden Globe Awards.
  • Wladimir Klitschko, a Ukrainian former professional boxer who competed from 1996 to 2017. He held the world heavyweight championship twice, including the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, and Ring magazine titles.
  • Maddie Hinch, an English former field hockey player who played as a goalkeeper for Tilburg HC and England and Great Britain national teams.
  • Sir Ranulph Fiennes, a British explorer, writer and poet, who holds several endurance records.
  • Bear Grylls, a British adventurer, writer, television presenter and businessman.
  • Ursula Burns, an American businesswoman known for being the CEO of Xerox from 2009 to 2016, the first black woman to be a CEO of a Fortune 500 company.
  • Bob Langer, an American chemical engineer, scientist, entrepreneur, inventor and one of the nine Institute Professors at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
  • Frances Arnold, an American chemical engineer and Nobel Laureate.
  • Courteney Cox, an American actress and filmmaker. She gained international recognition for her starring role as Monica Geller on the NBC sitcom Friends (1994–2004), for which she received seven Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, of which she won one.
  • Channing Tatum, an American actor. Tatum made his film debut in the drama Coach Carter (2005), and had his breakthrough role in the 2006 dance film Step Up.
  • Steven Frayne (Dynamo), a British magician born in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
  • Kate Richardson-Walsh, an Olympic Gold and Bronze Medal-winning English field hockey player.
  • FW de Klerk, a South African politician who served as state president of South Africa from 1989 to 1994 and as deputy president from 1994 to 1996. As South Africa's last head of state from the era of white-minority rule, he and his government dismantled the apartheid system and introduced universal suffrage.
  • Valerie Amos, a British Labour Party politician and diplomat who served as the eighth UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator.
  • Sabrina Cohen-Hatton, a British firefighter, psychologist and writer. She is the Chief Fire Officer of the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
  • Mark Ormrod, a former Royal Marine, Invictus Games athlete, author and motivational speaker.
  • Kelly Holmes, a retired British middle-distance athlete. Holmes specialised in the 800 metres and 1,500 metres events and won gold medals for both distances at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
  • Tim Peake, a British author, Army Air Corps officer and European Space Agency astronaut.
