Category:Articles with notice for sfn style 1

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Description: This category tracks articles employing the style of using shortened footnotes for any sources cited multiple times in unique ways- typically different pages numbers. Full citations are placed in a separate section and are typically alphabetized. No sources should appear in this section if all short citations to it are identical. For further information on short footnote templates, usage considerations, see documentation for the template which adds articles to this category: {{Note short footnote style 1 in use}}. See also related template {{Note short footnote style 1}} which is employed for confirming whether the style is being used.

Correcting citations:

  • Any inline full citations to the same source but differing by page number cited, or with other unique information such as citation comment or quoted passage should be replaced with a short footnote. The full citation should be moved to the sorted list in the article.
  • Any full citations in the sorted cited works section that have only identical short footnotes should be moved back inline using the convention for the article, typically a named reference.
    • Example syntax: <ref name=AuthorNameYYYY> [citation information...] </ref>
