Description: This category tracks articles where it is necessary to declare that the usual style of storing all full citations in the same section typically named "References". Shortened footnotes are permitted in restricted circumstances and only to full citations stored in this same section. Correcting citations:

  • If short footnotes are used to citations in a section other than that for all other citations, or if no unique information such as page number accompanies the short footnote, it should be replaced with a reference with an alias for the full references, typically using the <ref name=> syntax. See article for examples.
    • Example syntax for full citation:<ref name=AuthorLastNameYYYY> [citation information...] </ref>
    • Example syntax for cites to same source: <ref name=AuthorLastNameYYYY/>
  • Inline full citations to the same source but differing by page number cited, or with other unique information such as citation comment or quoted passage may be replaced with a short footnote, which typically use templates such as {{sfn}}, {{harvnb}}. The full citation must appear in the same section where all other full citations are listed.
